Do not leave your car running even if it is locked. Even if you are making a quick stop it only takes a person about 30 seconds to break through a window and drive off in your vehicle. There are many after market options for car alarms with alarms that occur on a remote attached to your keychain. Additionally they have tracking devices for vehicles if you feel the need as well. Preparation for crime is the best prevention for crime!
